"For Personal Use Only" Includes Use in Public School Classrooms

Updated: Aug 12, 2019

Many online images designed by professionals are legally free to use based upon the "personal use only" clause described on many sites which also sell images for use in commercial (read as "making anything for sale") endeavors. Although these sites rarely specify that public school teachers' use of materials (including enlarged, printed copies) falls under the "personal use" clause, it does because teachers are not "selling" (making monetary profit from the use of) the images. All of the images collected here for teachers' usage have been copied from the internet, resized for ease of use, and saved onto a Google Doc which itself has been edited to allow for the images' resizing onto marginless, 8.5 x 11 inch pages so that teachers can most easily access, enlarge or shrink one or more of the images, and print out what they need when they need it.
